I have a 1981 fiberglass bass boat that I am restoring. The gelcoat on the sides and bottom of the boat are in good shape however all the top surfaces are dull and oxidated. I have read that you can sand and buff out gelcoat to restore shine.
My question is : The original gelcoat is a blue metal flake. When you run your hand over the top surfaces it feels as though there is no clear or gelcoat. Can the you sand and buff metal flake gelcoat to restore the shine?
Thanks in advance for any assistance or advice!
