Re: Resin Question

7 days- That's not good! What was the temp?

Sounds like he didn't use enough hardener, or the resin was bad...

Re: Resin Question

It depends on the situation.

If all he did was put a layer of resin without wax on the plywood and the temps have cool and humid, then the surface may still be tacky.

If he put a couple of layers of glass down and used waxed resin then there may be a issue.

If all he planned to use was a layer of resin, then he's lucky, resin alone won't do much of anything to help keep the wood from rotting, it needs to have glass for it not to crack and peel off. If the surface is still tacky he can glass over it without further prep.

Re: Resin Question

Make sure the resin will get hard, do small test batch, if it gets hard then just glass over the tacky resin that's already there.
