I have the Grady white Adventure 20'.
Dry weight w/o engine is 2900 lbs.
My old engine was a 1990 200hp.
I'm considering a 2011 175 hp verado.
Will I be under powered, any thoughts out there?

That depends,
How good the old engine was, was it still putting out 200 hp, and so on.
I doubt you will notice a drop in performance. Plus you should save a little gas.

Put an etec on it. You will be way happier!

Sprky, But Merc doesn't make an e-TEC.

How about an Optimax?

Just do a little research. BMC does a damn good job with their motors. I like mercs, I own quite a few. I just wouldn't have a verado. Too many failure points.

Opit's are ok, as long as they are under warranty. Mercury has been doing stupid things to make money lately. I am not inpressed with much of any of their new stuff.

What is the price difference between the 175 and 200?
