I am considering repowering from a 1996 225HP 3.0 L Black Max to a 225 HP Mercury Verado. Can anyone tell me the weight difference between the two.

You might look on the Merc sales brochure. They usually list dry weights. As long as they still make the 3.0L Merc, the weight should be within a few pounds of your '96.
