My trailer for my 185 searay corroded and it would cost to much to fix. I had a friend give me a trailer and I am not sure about what I need to be looking at to make sure it will work. My boat is 18 1/2' and the new trailer is a capri for a 20' bayliner. The bunkers are about spaced the same but the front of the boat is going to have to come up a lot to fit snug on there. I am replacing the bunkers and doing some grinding and painting on the trailer before I put my boat on. I can't do any measurements until I get my boat off my old trailer. What should I be measuring? The new trailer bunkers are designed to move and are not set at a certain angle like my old trailer but it looks like this shouldn't be a problem. Anyways, never done this and wanted some advice as to what to measure and any other things i need to be thinking about. 2012-06-01_20-33-31_845.jpg 2012-07-07_13-58-20_596.jpg

I,m not sure what you need to measure, but keep your tongue weight in mind.

Drop a plumb bob off of your bow roller and measure from that point to the back of the bunks, then see if you have enough room on the new trailer, thats how I would do it and it looks to me like you will be fine, then just leave the new bunks snug and load your boat on the new trailer once your boat is on look everything over, if your happy tighten the bunks and call it good, if not drop the boat back into the water and move the bunks in or out as needed and reload, repeat as necessary.
