I am having to replace gauges from a 1995 Wellcraft 190ccf. I’m finding the old gauges have S G I and L. My new volt gauge only has the light, ground, Ignition connection points. What is the S and how can a wire the new gauges? Any help is greatly appreciated. New at this.

Welcome to iBoats . . .

'S' would be a sender. A voltmeter (gauge) certainly would not need a sender lead as it is measuring the voltage of the 'I' ignition lead vs. ground.

What was the sender lead of the old gauge connected to?

The sender from voltage was connected to the sender for fuel, sender for fuel was connected to sender for trim, and then connected to Pul on RPM gauge.

They had purple wires connecting the S connections to the PUL on the RPM starting from the voltage meter. My new voltage meter doesn’t have the Sender connection. New at this and was just trying to understand why it was done this way and impact on not having that connection on voltage gauge or there is even one. Thanks

Here is the correct color codes, gauge connection points and such. The G =ground. I=Ignition circuit S=Sender B=Battery (Some may have an extra for lighting separate from power)
