This spring my dad and I are going to replace the floor on our 17' sylvan. Problem is we've never done something like this before. Any advice or helpful hints would be very welcome. Thanks for reading

Which 17ft ALUMINUM Sylvan? Bowrider? Center console?

Pix would be helpful, before, during and after the demo.

You & your dad should have little problem gathering materials & supplies thru the winter & be ready to GO! when the time comes. And until then use the time to look thru some resto's to get an idea of what you're facing.

Well, then it is very likely to be a straight forward demo & rehab.

Pix when you can. Look thru some other tin boat resto's & you'll get lots of ideas & possibilities:
Starcraft Rebuilds and Restorations, they're all here!

Don't wait to start work on the motor, if needed, and the trailer. When you finish the boat, you'll want to USE it asap, so by also working on the motor & trailer, you'll be all set & can drop it back into service when you're done.......
