I am replacing the fuel line on a 1997 crusader inboard and I need to connect brass threads. Can I use teflon tape or is some other sealant used? And if so what is it called? I see the originals have some paste sealant.

Re: Replacing gas line

Is it the fuel line fro the pump to the carb? If so those are usually inverted flare fittings and dont require any sealant. If its pipe thread then you need pipe thread sealant rated for gas. Teflon tape really isnt a sealant its more of a lubricant to fit pipe together. I hate the stuff LOL.

Loctite #592 for brass thread fittings per Oem manuals. Do not use teflon tape.
