I sure hope this is the correct forum to post this in... If not, please forgive me oh mighty admin.

I'm looking into replacing the carpet in my 18' Stratos bass boat. I've ordered a carpet sample from Overton's. One thing I'm not sure of: this marine adhesive they sell for installing that carpet. Is this stuff better than contact cement?

thanks,
Chris

Chris,, I'm doing the same thing to a 1987 Champion. I would recommend NOT using contact cement. The carpet adhesive lets you "tweek" the placement of the carpet, while contact cement does not.. Once it's sticks it's stuck. The Marine adhesive adheres fine and will also be benificial to whom ever might need to re carpet it in the future.. That would not be the case if you use contact cement.
