Getting ready to replace the port side trim tab soon.

Any advise on doing so while minimizing air in the hydraulic line that leads to the tab?

. The cylinders are spring loaded in the up position. Pull tabs full up before disconnecting supply line. Otherwise you’ll have a mess.

As noted above, the system is self bleeding. Run them thru a couple of full up and down cycles. Run pump an extra 2-3 seconds at full stroke in both directions. You’ll hear the trapped air passing thru the pump. Your done when the pump stops “gurgling”

Remember 5200 is your friend
Until you need to repair or replace the component.

5200 is technically an adhesive. There are better sealants for use in mechanically fastened applications.

Using something like 3M- 3000 UV or 4000 UV would be a better choice for this application. Marine epoxy on the hinge screws.

The mess happened last fall taking the boat out of the water, I forgot to trim full up and cracked one when all the weight ended up on the trailer bunks. Crack and shortly there after a lot of red water.

I intend to use 3m 4000

Thanks
