Replacement seats.

I have a 1989 Galaxy 205 Bow Rider and time, water, and *use* have not been good to the back "bench" seat and engine cover.

The vinyl seems like it's in ok shape - a bit faded, and one or two small cracks. The plywood 'frames' of both the back seat and the engine cover are rapidly turning into sawdust.

One course of action that I have is to try to duplicate the construction - but I will have to guess a lot on the engine cover as much of the structure is gone. I suppose that I could re-engineer the cover to make it a bit narrower than it was before, and move the back seat accordingly.

The back seat I think I could duplicate - the plywood is deteriorating on the sides, and cracked in the middle - but I think I have enough of the edges to work with.

Another option seems to be just to replace the seats with brand new seats. This would be *all* the seats - even the ones that aren't falling apart (yet). I know that my wife would favor this option *if* I replaced the back to back seats with folding or removable seats.

However - I know nothing about who makes good seats, what the characteristics of the materials are, what would work and what wouldn't.

So, any advice or pointers to advice on this (any options) would be much appreciated.

Re: Replacement seats.

Thank you.

However, there dosn't seem to be much in the way of information as to what the seat types mean: which seats have storage? Which seats need "another part" such as bases/pedestals. Which ones have adjustments to the arms, which ones can swivel? As you can tell, I am a beginner in this area.

A link to the mfg from the iboats listing would be a help...
