replaced switch box 90 inline merc

i have an 84 inline six that needed a switch box. had no spark in 1, 3, and 5.
now it runs but idles rough. has fuel on plugs when they are removed after running. i was told that i should replace both boxes but trying to save cost as the boat was given to me. how smooth do these engines idle, should i replace the other box or do i have a carb or timing issue?

You should change both.I have a 90 h.p inline and she,s running great it idles real smooth.

thanks, now i just have to find a matching box from cdi, should have done both to begin with
