Replaced guages now control box is dead

I have used this forum several time over the years to get help on the various issues that come with boat ownership, usually finding the answer I need without having to post for help... well my time has come. I replaced my older Faria guages with newer Teleflex Lido Guages (Tach, MPH, Fuel, and Trim for 2000 Yamaha 90 2 Stroke on same year Sailfish 186) I attached the wires as they came off the old guage to the corresponding teriminals on the new guages. After each one I checked for operation by turning on the ignition switch and they worked up until the Trim guage. I wired correctly ( purple to the "I" terminal, black to the "G" and the red to the "S") my guages are wired in chain and the additional purple and black from the Tach are also where they should be. When I now turn the key I get nothing, this goes for the trim switch on the handle as well. Everything worked until I installed the Trim switch. I even tried reinstalling the old one, which was working just sun faded and got same results. The battey is fully charged. the boat harness is working great as all the lighting and electronics work fine. Is there a fuse somewhere I may be missing?

You blew the fuse at the engine. Remove the cowl and locate the fuse. But determine why it blew. Keep in mind that the trim sender which is engine specific, may not be compatible with the new trim gauge. That shouldn't have blown the fuse but something to investigate. Something you did with the trim gauge is not right so check again. The +12 volt feed would need to be touching ground to create a short that would blow the fuse.

Thankyou Silvertip..you were exactly right! ...I located a fuse on the engine I was not aware of and sure enough it was blown. I will replace the fuse and investigate the cause this evening. Thank you again for your reply.

Dead gauges coupled with no start (no solenoid click or starter) and no trim are all symptoms of a blown fuse at the engine. All of these circuits are generally powered via the engine harness (not the boat harness) and that circuit is protected by a fuse(s) or breaker at the engine.
