Is it worth it to restore an old steel pontoon? Its sitting on the ground right now. ( past 3 years) It shure could use a coat of paint. I dont see any rust spots on it. Couple of dings and dents not too bad.

How could i test it to see if it will float ??

It has a lever oin the back and small platform that moves to ajust the motor hight.

No plywood on it just bare skeleton. Used to have pully style steering.

Worth fixing or would it be to risky?

Toons are tubular no front fins and they curve up twards the bow. Kina cool retro ?

Remember this... you fix it...you have you power it and haul it. That lever probably lifts to motor out of the water.

Anything is worth fixing if you can see a practical use.

You could drill/tap and install a schrader valve and charge them LIGHTLY with air and use soap and water to look for leaks or a pressure drop. I would not go above 5 lbs/sq inch
