Repairing voids in fiberglass

Hello all..

This should help with voids or any other glass repair thats not through the boat.

Grind and glass..then fair.

These repairs are done with West system epoxy and had to be Post cured ( the heat lamps ).

Doing this with vinylester would have saved time

So, a gouge on the bow of my red boat, hit trailer, is through the gel coat down to the fiberglass, but not through the glass. Its about 1" long. Sorry no pic, boat is 100 miles away. Repairing your way looks to require painting. Is there a colored paste that can be used? Seems thats all it needs.

Hello 6meter..

You could fill with gel paste..sand and buff..

But its not going to seal it. You would need to apply gel over it if you dont want it to crack in the future.
