I have read a couple of post on crank threads buggered up. I had the same problem. I micked the shaft to get the proper size die, then I took a dremel tool and ground the top of the crank down till the dye would grab, oil the threads and cut new threads, worked like a champ. of course this crank was not messed up to bad to begin with, maybe I just got lucky, hope maybe this can help.
