Repairing a gash on the hull

I've had nothing but boat problems lately on a boat I recently purchased. My 1987 15ft Starcraft fiberglass bass boat suddenly has somehow gotten scraped on the bottom of the hull (no clue how) and now has a gash about 6 inches long. The boat itself isn't taking in any water EXCEPT for the bilge area and I think that's because I noticed the seal around the aerator isn't sealed good and whatever type of sealant or glue they used is starting to deteriorate. The area with the gash is really soft and I think if I pressed hard enough I could put my finger threw it but it's odd because the water only leaks into the bilge area and not into the boat. It has been patched in several places on the bottom of the hull.

The only saving grace for this boat is it has a 1988 Mercury 90 HP Oil Injected engine that is running good and I can get it up to about 45 MPH but I'm leaning towards selling the boat because I'm thinking this gash is going to cost major bucks to get fixed.

Does anyone nearby South Georgia interested in buying this boat? Also if I wanted to what is the best method for repairing this? Could I just slap some 3M 5200 on it and seal it? Or am I looking at a major repair.

Pictures are attached.
