I have a 14 foot aluminum boat which has small leakage around the seam of the keel,my question is;is there any type of sealant I can put along the seam before I paint the boat that will stick good to aluminum?

Re: Repair on aluminum boat.

Fly, I have a 14' aluminum also. I thought mine was leaking through the seams too. When I turned it upside down, I found a few damaged rivits. I used the "aluminum boat patch" sold at Cabellas. It is a pencil shaped tube of what seemed to be rubber like material. You just heat it up with a propane torch and apply to the affected area. Directions on package are a little more detailed. I've only had her out twice since the repair and repaint, but she seems to be quite watertight. If it lasts, it's a cheap and simple solution. Hope this helps.
