What is the standard treatment for the interior of a boat and its floor?
Some sort of Resin mixture?
I have a system 7 2 part resin mixture from previous but this could be expensive on a whole floor!

My floor is black and looks to have had some sort of rubberised back paint at some point. It really needs reapplication.
Also, the inboard engine bay is in dire need of an application of something to reseal it all. The wood spars are meginning to show under areas where the resin coating has split .
The wood is very tough and not rotten.

Does anyone know what grade/type of nylon coated cable to use to replace the rusted / snapped existing cables in a small boat like mine? (17ft).

Many thanks

That black coating on the floor might be truck bedliner...... which has been used by some people for some time.

steering depends on the type system you have.

the steering system is a simple looking over and under wind cable system with pullies.
The back of the steering wheel and the stern drive both have a worm looking shaft about 4 inch diam with grooves for the cable to run.
One comes off the top and one the bottom.
The cables run around the boat corners on small pulley wheels.

Inspect the fittings/pulleys on your boat, anything really old/cracked/corroded should be replaced. You can get braided/wound metal cable covered in plastic in many sizes at the box stores. Make sure you get the size that fits your pulleys...should ride down in the pulley groove.
