Helping a friend redo a 1978 25ft. Not sure of the model. I'm to the point to where we need to redo the transom and my question is if I pull the gunwells off do I need to brace this some how to keep its shape? Or should I cut the gunwells towards the back to reveal the transom leaving the front half or so to keep it from flexing? ( I already removed the floor).

It's been done either way. Your choice.
