I casn't imagine a 2004 Chaparral has a rotted transom. I would suspect something else, and NO, those seals never leak for no particular good reason.
As I said earlier, empty and dry the transom shield, talcum powder and see where the water is coming in. Or you will be spending a lot of money for no reason.
Everything leaks at the bottom. Gravity causes that sort of mess. You, however have to find where the top part is leaking.

PS: Yes, you can change the seal, just remove the drive, engine and transom shield and replace it.

ok i see, try to explain to me more about the powder thing I spray,spread it all over the inside transom part and then I can see the powder getting wet?
