Removing outdrive. Its in forward atleast I think it is...I pulled the shift cable outwards. Took off the 6 bolts and trim accesories to remove and have even tied it up while on trailor and tried pulling off. Still nothing so I took chisel and began to get it seperated but only this much.

Second pic is of inside where shaft slips into cuppler that only managed to shift back as i chiseled it apart. Its really stuck in there.

"as i chiseled it apart. Its really stuck in there. "
Time to "chisel " into the wallet, you need a new upper and housing.
All you had to do was post and wait for:

Attach the rams, place a piece of wood between the housing cap and the transom,
use up trim CAREFULLY and walk the drive off adding additional spacing.

Thanks for the unnecessary sarcasm, if I didnt mention above...the boat was flooded on the trailor so getting the trim to "walk it off" isn't the option for every situation. Therefore I posted hoping someone can see what I want to do and answer my question, I just need to get it apart the engine is already trash.

The splines on the end of the shaft are probably fused or corroded into the coupler. If you can get to it with some penetrating type oil and let it soak it may free up.

If not get some wooden wedges and try and drive the upper off the transom assembly. Do it equally from both sides.

It is probably already roached. Sorry:mad:

If there is enough room I used two bolts, nuts, washer and a thin piece of steel to get mine off. I got the two middle studs out, then put the nut and washer inbetween the two halves, ran the bolt through the hole, and nut then placed the piece of thin steel for the bolt to press against and turned the bolts and pulled the drive off.

Be Nice. BT Is one of the more learned members of the board, and insulting any iBoaters will get you no where.
Maybe he was sarcastic, and you were frustrated, but, you did try force prior to posting, which, probably wasn't the best course of action.....

BT wasnt being sarcastic but being honest.
that area you chiseled is a gasket mating surface.
if it leaks it wipes out shift cables rather rapidly.
I have one at the shop right now. last tech,or backyadigan, chiseled it apart,it now sprays water about 1ft out of the drive mating surfaces and its flooding the shift cable pocket.
its gonna be an expensive repair now.

The trim will put thousands of lbs of force right where you want it.

I think "THANKS" would be in order. ( no not for me)

Im just trying to solve a problem, smart comments dont help, I appreciate the people who can respectfully just answer it. If they dont know then onto the next thread. The forum is to learn not to argue or make others look bad.

Well, if you don't care HOW it comes off, go rent a Porta-Power, with a duck bill spreader...Wear safety glasses cuz the aluminum might shatter prior to the shaft letting loose....

Re: removing STUCK 4.3 alpha1 outdrive

The drive is not in foward.

Direct from manual #6 for alpha drives page 2a-19.

"Installing Shift Cables

1. Push in on drive unit shift cable while simultaneously
turning propeller shaft counterclockwise
until shaft stops, to ensure drive unit is completely
in gear. Maintain pressure on propeller shaft
with a suitable device (elastic strap)."

You should just be able to push the cable in, the pressurre on the shaft shouldnt be needed, wasnt needed when i did it.

You will need to push your drive back on all the way so it goes into forward, then just pull the drive, it shouldn't be very hard at all.
