removing steering wheel

I'm trying to replace the helm in my jon boat and I'm having trouble removing the steering wheel. I tried to use a car steering wheel puller and found the bolt holes on my wheel were too far apart. Is there a special steering wheel puller for boats that I need? Thanks for the help

put the nut back on till it covers the threads

pull up on the wheel with both hands one at top one at bottom

hit nut with hammer

you figure out where to get 3 rd hand
