removing speedometer

how do u remove the speedometer from a 97 smoker craft i have the wires removed but there is a black hose in the middle of the back of the gauge with a long brass nut that the hose goes into.

Ayuh,... That's the pitot tube that goes back to the transom, or motor...
Pull it off, 'n undo the nut...

Those things can be on there pretty good. Give 'er a good yank or twist it off with pliers. Or just cut it.
