What would be the best way to remove these old lines of the hull? Wet sand, degreaser...
Thanks

I would try Superclean first. If that doesn't get it, there is a product called Mary Kate On and Off. It is 3 kinds of acid and alcohol. Protect your hands and use a rag to wipe it on. Wait a couple of minutes and hose it off.

Protect any galvanized metal, like on a trailer.

What you show are not water lines. That is residue from removed tape vinyl stripes.Good luck because it is either gonna come right off or be a heap of work to get removed.Start with an evening coat of WD40 and check back in the am with rubbing cloth in hand and see if anything comes off.Post back results as there are other ,methods if that fails.Charlie

Superclean is purple power. Same stuff. PP is generic Wallyworld version.

If it is tape adhesive residue, try rubbing alcohol. Acetone will dissolve other kinds of adhesive.

I will start with the alcohol and a razor blade, then I will try the others.

Good luck with that....In my experience ,Thats probably the least effective approach but I wish you luck!! Charlie

I agree. Anytime I've tried using razor blades on gel coat, the blade ends up digging into the gel and taking out little divots.
