Removing lower unit on a 1994 Johnson 225

I have removed the 6 bolts on the lower unit and it will drop down about 1 to 1 1/2", but won't seem to come off. Is there something else holding it? Thank you.

shift linkage, its easier to get at it if you remove the lower cover half.
Did you also remove the bolt under the trim tab, sounds like yes.

Don't rotate the shift rod after the leg drops, its threaded for length adjustment and has to be set just right.

Thank you. I figured it was the shift rod, but I couldn't see anywhere to get at it. I'll go at her in the morning
