Removing Livewell??

I'm looking to remove the livewell from my '89 Tracker V17. Specifically, I'm looking for ideas on how to plug the "holes" left in the hull when the piping is removed for the drain and fill lines....both of which are below the water line. The inside diameter of the hole inside each fitting is 1 inch. I was going to put some PVC in there and cap it, but after doing some measurements I don't think it will work. I'm looking for a permanent seal........any thoughts??

I would leave the thru hull and put a plug in the hose with a hose clamp, it will look alot cleaner when you are done and still seal it.
