Does anyone know to remove or free a drive shaft from a force 120? I already got to the gear pinion and remover the nut on the end of it but the shaft wont budge at all. Any tricks or tools that I need to free it from the gear case?

Even though the pinion is splined to the shaft, it also has a "locking" taper. You need to use "psychology" on it. That is, carefully beat the s**t out of it. If you have a large vise, clamp the shaft between two soft jaws and smack the case a couple of good ones with a wood block to cushion it and prevent damage. Have someone there to catch it when the pinion lets go. Or better, leave the nut screwed on a couple of threads.

Sounds like a plan, I tried leaving the nut thing but with no success. So to clarify I clamp the vise to the drive shaft? then use a wood block to hammer against the gear case? Where on the case should I smack it?? Can I use a rubber mallet instead?

Not positive, but i think Frank means to place the block over the target and hit the block with a sledge.

So hit the drive shaft towards the pinion! Sounds evasive, that wont damage any parts on the drive shaft?

You will need to clamp the drive shaft and then place a block of wood on the gearcase beside the drive shaft. Then carefully but forcefully hit the block of wood with a sledge to separate the drive shaft from the gear case. I have added a quick paint drawing of what we are talking about. The arrows are showing the blocks of wood and where they should be placed. Good luck, it takes some force.
