I have an 85 16ft. sea nymph. It has 4 bench seats I would like to remove the middle and bacK and do some modifications.Iam concerned that this will comprimise the structural integrity of the boat.Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with doing this.I would greatly appericate any input.Time is flying and muskie season is only 7 weeks away.I really need to figure this out soon.....

Re: Removing bench seats

Yes, the seats are structural.

Try to come up with a plan that will replace the lost support.

Think storage locker, livewell, rod storage, something that will brace the sides and preferably extend the width of the boat.

Also remember to replace the flotation foam that you lose when you remove the seats.

Or go shopping for a 1970's Starcraft Mariner.

I agree with what Roscoe has said. IMO it might be easier to get a boat that fits your needs as opposed to transforming this one. When I bought my boat I had considered the same thing.....so I did this.
