You want manual #28 under the "MUST HAVE Technical Information for DIYers" sticky at the top of this forum.

You're almost there. The shift cable will automatically release on a Bravo. You don't have to do anything to it. You will need to disconnect the speedometer hose at the very front and the galvanic corrosion cable on the side.

I was able to break lose the drive from the bell housing and I saw the shifter cable but didn't see it "automatically" release ... I didnt want to mess it up so I didnt pull hard ... so where's that easy button for the cable release ?? I'll check your recommendation of DIY manual and see if it explaines ... thanks.

Actually, you want manual #11 for your year Bravo. But the 28 will say the same thing.

When you pull the drive, you will see where the cable enters the latch in the drive. Just lift the tab above the cable and the latch will release.

Just to be sure .. I just pull-up on the latch with pair of needle nose pliers ? (at the end of the shift-linkageassembly) .. Thank-you .. I'll give it a try this week ..

You should be able to lift it with anything handy, screwdriver, pick, pliers, etc. I think its just held shut with gravity and grease.
