I have a 1991 Johnson 48SPL Model #J48ESLEIM. The current control I have is like the one in the picture. The key and kill switch are in the dash. The throttle and shift cables are brand new. I would like to change to a "regular" control box for two reasons. The first is there is not a neutral safety switch and having to pull out the throttle lever for idle and its getting hard to get it back into throttle/shift position. Is there a certain control I need to use as a replacement? What year models do i need to look for?
