remote control for my old outboard

Looked and looked but can`t seem to find which side mount remote control was used for the 1962 250(25hp) outboard motor.
Would like to acquire an original to keep my vintage set up, well vintage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The out board in question is a Mercury, sorry forgot to include that tidbit of info.
Someone must know what to use.

If it has the wrap spring gear shift ( I think it does ) it uses a fairly special remote control.-----Remove steering handle and install it on the end.------Both helm piece and motor end look like a disc affair.-----Your location ?

I`ve seen those round looking ones but no reference to what they are for.??
