been looking on line for what they call a reef anchor other than making one, the one that have bendable tines. all's I can find is an over sea's web site. anyone have a good web site this side of the pond where I might be able to buy one.

Not sure what side of pond you are on. They are avail in the US at West marine. If you have a hammer and a welder, take some concrete reinforcing iron bar and bend it to shape and weld it. You could probably even clamp it together somehow.

Re: reef anchor

search for them as "wreck anchors" that's what we call them here--we have wrecks but no reefs.

because they are so easy to make, heavy/awkward to ship, the best source is local shop-made if you don;t want to make them yourself. Try a local fishing forum, tackle shop, commercial fishing supply house, etc.

Re: reef anchor

Thats a great idea with the eye by the splines! Some people do the same as my pic but also tie the chain down to the splines with zip ties and then if u get stuck you pull up breaking the zip ties and then pull from the bottom/splines.

Re: reef anchor

this one is filled with lead; some are made with PVC and filled with concrete. Often made with rebar. the pointis cheap and disposable as well as flex in the tines.
