Seen a guy last year try to put his boat in the water and forgot the back tie down straps. He could not understand why his boat would not come off the trailer.
That happens a lot! In fact, I'd wager to say that if you use transom straps at all, it isn't a matter of if, but when. I personally have done it at least once. The trick is that it should also be caught relatively easily, even before you get out of the vehicle after backing down.
(same goes for the plug... not if, but when!)
