I have an '83 evinrude 50hp that someone has cut the red plug from the engine off of. I got a used one from a marine salvage yard but it has two black with yellow striped wires and from the engine I only have one. Do I add wire to one of them and make sure that both are grounded or do I just use one of them.
I also have a brown wire coming from the engine and the new plug harness has a very faded white wire that could have at one time been brown. Is this for an alarm and does it need to be hooked up to keep it from going off if it isn't?

If I remember right it is:

Red w/ purple 20 amp fuse
Purple w/ white primer solenoid
purple battery voltage in run on ign
Black battery negative
black w/ yellow kill switch
Yellow w/ red starter
gray tach
brown alarm?

The black w/ yellow goes into a plug that I cannot find on ishopmarine. Is this the starter switch that brp evinrude shows?
Thanks
