Anyway of adding it to the email that's sent out to new users when they register? Like a NOTE: Before clicking the below link, please take note of this banner as you navigate the iboat forum. If you see a topic with this red banner on it, please DO NOT POST to that topic since it's over 90 days old.

We have some other changes coming up. My plan was to include all new features and functions in a the email registration.

However first impression makes it sound as if Nobody should reply to the thread .. not even the OP.

Yeah, OP's are definitely exempt from the 90 day rule.

Just wondering if it might be a good idea to say that on the banner .. Something like "Unless your the original poster please start another thread in regards to any questions you may have. This will give you greater results on your inquiry. All future posts will be Deleted within this thread." kinda thing.

Yeah, OP's are definitely exempt from the 90 day rule. As soon as you post and update the 90 day clock starts again. Once you get out of the thread, and back in, the banner will be gone for all.

Yes .. I have noticed this without the red banner :) ..

I think that some of the threads in the Resto forum should be moved to the Completed section IMHO .. ..

Give room for the new guys here that might feel overwhelmed with the big guns.

It looks very good and should work fine, On my screen I can just barley get to the picture advance tab though, but that may just be my resolution though.

For a while, it looked like the red banner was working. However, the last couple of days, I have seen a few old threads responded to by some folks without a mention that they were doing so knowingly.

Maybe it is just a certain percentage of folks that will not heed any sorts of warnings or messages ? :noidea:

That's life . . .

We had one guy post in an old thread yesterday. Newbie, and he posted specifically to tell us that our policy sucked

Did you offer him a full refund of his membership fee? :)

I agree with the sentiment, the red banner certainly gets your attention if you're the type who uses your eyes to their fullest extent.

I also agree with GA_Boaters suggestion; Keep the red banner in place UNLESS the OP responds. Currently, if a color blind dope responds to the old thread, the banner goes, and the free-for-all begins (unless that has since been changed).

I find the feature useful.... I tried to note the thread date myself and a few slipped through my filter! :embarassed: Now it's graphically obvious and I notice it.
