Hello all and thanks for the add I have 1996 Johnson 90 hp model j9osle0c and I'm on my 2nd rectifier. The 1st one the tach wasn't working and I noticed low charging. 2nd time I was having tachometer and ignition problems. I was able to jump the solenoid and get back to the ramp. When checking it out I noticed grease leaking from the rectifier.I wondering if it's water cooled. I'm thinking the water path to it might be plugged? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I believe that is the water cooled rec/reg. I replace the impellers for my customers every 3 years or 100 hours

The regulator sheds excess current as heat.

Make sure the wiring from the output of the regulator to the battery isn't compromised in some manner.

Corroded and or loose switch or battery connections will cause a regulator to run hot
