rectifier

I have a 86 evenrude 90 hrs and its not charging, I want to do a diode test on the rectifier but I cannot find it. I have already taken off the flywheel from what I understand it is under there somewhere? do I need to remove the stator? Any help would be great. thank you

How can anyone help you if you don't explain what engine you are working on.
HP and model number would really help.

You probably didn't have to remove the flywheel to check what you want but,,, How about a model #??????????
