reconnect wire to stator

I have a 1978 20 hp merc. Wires rotted off one side of copper wound part of stator. It appears to be held on by an epoxy or melted plastic. Does anyone out here know what it is, if it can be repaired. thanks mc66

Probably not worth all the effort with the chance that a repair wont last. Look for a good used stator on Ebay.

I have it out already two wires,two bolts,and one flywheel. thanks for your response. I looked on e-bay and other sights ng so far. Will keep checking. thanks mc66
