Wasn't sure if this made it to posting. This yacht belonged to my Uncle back in the 50's. He cruised out of Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, NY. I have been trying to identify the builder. Any suggestions?

Looks like a Trumpy or a Mathis. But... I believe it could also be a Stephens, Matthews, or Huckins. Not positive about the last three but I think they all made boats of that style way back when.

It looks just like the yacht featured in the movie, "The Final Countdown." I don't know what kind of boat it is either, but agree that it is typical of yachts built in the 20s & 30s - "long & narrow."

I can't make out all the details of the suprestructure to be sure, but I'll say later 1920's -30's Elco, about 55' - 60'. The hull shape, wheelhouse, & canopy over the aft end are right on for Elco, I just can't really see the froward end styling of the trunk cabin. Beautiful boat! (though they did roll a good bit in a seaway) - Friends of ours had a 52' mid 30's Elco when I was growing up in the 70's, very similar.

Here is a 1929 50' Elco "Flat top" as they are called. Many similarities, but also quite a few differences - could be accounted for by a the different size and a few years difference in age.

When I was very young, there was a 1938 Pacemaker 44' at our marina that had lines very similar to this.

Rockyrude, -- The "Pacemaker" that is still around today started as "C.E. Leek" in the early 1950's & wasn't 'badged' as "Pacemaker" until the later 1950's. "Egg Harbor's" were another spinoff of the same "C.E.Leek" company I believe. Maybe there was another "Pacemaker" earlier on(?)
