I'm in the process of rebuilding my 92 2.5L Mariner EFI. I smoked a piston after the main oil line blew off. Surprisingly only one cylinder took a beating, the other five are actually okay and just need a good hone to them as said by the marine shop. I'm very mechanically inclined but have not rebuilt a 2 stroke outboard before. The main question is it okay to run this motor with one cylinder .015 over and others stock. And the other question is how do you stagger the rings on these pistons? 11111179_10200479621750715_3749979422691883158_n.jpg

(1) Yes it is fine to run a .015 and rest stock (2) Get you a factory manual(boatinfo.com) (3) Pistons have locating pins in them so rings wont move (4) oil line did not cause this problem, send the injectors and ECU to Tony at Brucattosvs.com and have test, cleaned and balanced (5) Check sleeve and see if it turned in block
