Rebuilding 1980 johnson 35 Cant split the case?

Rebuilding 1980 johnson 35 How do I split the case. I watched a video of someone hitting the cam shaft and the case opened. No luck for me. Any ideas?

Take the intake off and make sure all the bolts are out. Where did you find a camshaft on a 1980 evinrude 35 hp?

Is the tapered dowel pin out ?-------Is the carburetor and intake manifold off ??-----Is the lower seal housing off ?

Actually, I meant nothing insulting or funny. I just said in a few words what was said by others----look for some more bolts, like behind the manifold. I was in a hurry, as I had to go to the bank for an identity / money theft purpose. A stressful day.

It was a valid comment, a lot of people don't take the Intake manifolds off of many OMC outboards and haven't found the bolts hidden in there

Picked up a 94 model 9.9 years ago.----Crankcase cover had suffered because the 2 middle main bolts had not been removed.

You guys are all great at this. Thanks for the suggestions. The screw to remove the leaf plate stripped and I could not remove. I did not see any bolts in the service manual, so I thought I could split the case without removing. You all say there are two bolts beyond this plate. Thanks for your help! I am a rookie, my mistake!! All the best to all of you.

The screw is stripped and stuck. I broke off the removal tool in the screw head. Any ideas how to remove?

There you go !!---Just drill the head off.-----Remove the reed plate .----Remove the hidden bolts.----Cover will fall off.
