Rebuild or Replace??

Hi all,<br />Extreme newbie, just bought used 19ft cuddy with a 115hp Chrysler. Couldn't pass up the deal, boat, motor and trailer for $650.00. Trailer is in excellent shape, boat just needs cleaning and cosmetic repair, the motor is another story. Siezed.(knew this at time of purchase) Tried to loosen it up but no luck, removed transfer port covers and the #4 cylinder/piston has a little rust. Tried to remove the head and broke two bolts even after using heat and/or impact driver. <br />I found a place on the web that sells rebuild kits($700.00) but it doesn't what the kits contain. Does anyone know what they usually consist of?<br />Then I started thinking(uh oh)...maybe I should just by a rebuilt powerhead cause maybe unforeseen problems and hidden additional expenses of rebuilding myself might exceed the cost of a rebuilt.<br />Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas or advice is sincerely appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Rick

If you really like the boat and want to keep it, replace the whole engine.<br /><br />Those engines have been out of production for quite some time and parts are getting scarce.<br /><br />Some will say they were of dubious quality from the get go. No bashing here, just relaying the opinions of some.

Thanks DJ, guess I'll start looking around for a new(used) motor.

You might want to think about keeping you LU as a spare. That is if you get another Chrysler.
