Rear motor mounts

Can someone tell me why that spacer is present on the motor mount bolt? Old style with the fiber washer and split washer. 77 351 Alpha 1 combo.

Because if it wasn't the head of the bolt and the washer would clamp down on the mount housing (engine flywheel cover) and negate the use of a rubber mount.

Thanks achris, that makes sense. Didn't want to admit we reinstalled engine and had the two spacers left over....
