How would I go about re-assembling my outdrive? I took it all apart to replace some parts? Can someone link me to the manual? Or tell me how to assemble it?

Or will the aftermarket manual on here tell me how to?

This is a 1984 228 MerCruiser/Searay..

The manual is easy http://www.4shared.com/office/L17_ufPa/06__Drives_R-A1_83-90.html?

The problem is you don't have anything to put together. These parts are junk.

You can't replace those parts unless you buy all the special tools needed for the job.

Your best bet is to buy a complete new SEI outdrive. About $1500 and a 3 year warranty. You can't buy parts and tools for that.

yikes! yea i think i would agree with don, probably should go for a used drive complete or SEI , i am looking into and researching SEI myself at the moment and from what people from iboats and from other places say, theyre just as good if not better . The only downside i see to them is lower quality paint but seems to be cosemetic only.

I have found in my own DIY experience and having some mechanical background that reman. or having a certified tech do the work is your best bet, these things are built like clocks almost. i picked up a junk outdrive (mc-1) to tinker with before i tore down theone on my boat and found lots of expensive specialty tools are needed to properly and safely rebuild
