I am in the middle of a nightmare transom repair, estimate started out at 3k and is looking to finish up around 6k, i had originally asked the guy when we did the estimate if, since they would have the top cap off could they put a 3/4 inlet in for me, they said no prob.

I was up there Friday and asked them why it wasn't in yet as they were beginning the reassembly process and they said they weren't sure where they were going to put it cause they didn't want to cause cavitation on my prop by putting the thru hull in.

It's a single engine grady white, I turn about 4k rpms at 35 to 40 mph I can't see a small water inlet causing cavitation on the prop. Grady puts the pickup about 4 inches from the transom and to the right of the drain. Is it just me or are they making this way too complicated?
