Wow, I've just bought a rattle gun for my air compressor. What a difference to my garage workshop. The ease of removing sometimes rusty nuts or bolts is awesome.
I know, you guys have likely got one but this really brings out the "boy in the man" syndrome in me!
My brother has already booked it to do his trailer.
Ross

Re: Rattle Gun

Sorry Wannabeboater,
It's a matter of our different style of the english language.
I guess they are the same, it looks a bit like a big drill and uses compressed air. It impact drives nuts and/or bolts off or on up to 250lbs torque.
Is that the same?
Ross

Congradutations Ross. Now I Know what all the noise was coming out of Auckland. It was Ross taking his wifes tyres on & off all weekend.I bought a 3/4'' drive to get the wheels of my truck. If you jump of the ground when you pull the trigger on the rattlegun you can do 4 x 360 spins B4 you hit the ground again. But I can't land on my feet yet. Mike Paengaroa Bay of Plenty.

Re: Rattle Gun

Hello Mike from the BOP. It's always nice to meet another Kiwi on this board. It's great isn't it?

12 footer LOL!

Yep I've had a few uses for the new "toy" as my wife calls it. Boy it made mincemeat of the old tractor bolts yesterday. It's a project for a mates beach house! Gotta love these devices that make life easier. Since I'm left a wee bit weaker in health I've needed a bit of a hand at some things and this makes me feel capable of anything again.
Ross

Ross J

Be careful if using your "rattle gun" with wheel lug nuts.

I had some tire store oaf tighten my car lug nuts like it was a Mack truck.

Not only were they so tight they warped the brake rotors, they were also too tight to remove with the lug wrench, which was all I had, 50 miles from the nearest service station.

Enjoy.

Re: Rattle Gun

Hi Ross. Spotted 4 Kiwis so far.Ham,Inv,Auck and Bop. I've learn't so much on this forum in two weeks about motors, the knowledge base is awsome.
I fish the area around Motiti Island mostly which takes me over the Kaituna bar. Somedays its a kitten and others it will claw you to death. I fully respect it though. Sorry your health is a concern. Boatings the cure.
