Re: Rank manufacturer quality....looking for bowrider.

I've owned boats on and off for the past 25 years or so. I've owned different brands including the dreaded Bayliner which was a great boat that did everything I asked it to do. In the end, I would stay away from Bayliner unless I got a great deal because the resale value of them is not as good as so-called "better" brands. Right now, we have a 2004 Stingray bowrider and love it. We got is used and in super condition. It's a well made boat with a nice hull design and some nice features like the built-in bow cooler for all your drinks, etc. The fit and finish is very good to excellent. To me, you want to get a boat that has a dealer somewhere near you. It helps if you need parts, service, and even on resale. Quite often, people may visit a dealer but then go look for a used boat of that particular brand. In addition, if you don't want the hassle of selling the boat yourself, bring it to the dealer and put it on consignment. Good luck on the search.

When it comes to used, the boat that has been best cared for, brand being meaningless.
