I guess this is the place to post this question since it is the Random Forum...

I recently was given a 10,000 pull Harbor Freight Winch, Road Shock! Well it was in pretty bad shape. So I disassembled it and started cleaning and straightening everything out. Started looking pretty good. Than I decided to remove the motor and took it apart. Bad news is, the permanent magnets all came off the motor casing and were totally busted up in one huge mess. Everything else including the planetary gear section(s) were good. Even the cable and spool were in very good condition. So my question is, do any of you know where I can get new magnets for the casing? I looked over the internet options and with the exception of a very few magnet companies that ask for dimensions, I couldn't find anything direct for any DC motors. I thought about checking with a starter repair shop, but haven't thus far. Any ideas. There has to be a place the sells such magnets for all the huge number of DC motors in the world. Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed. I hate to throw the entire winch because of the magnets busted...

Ha dingbat, thanks. I'll check into them. I was actually looking at replace motors that would bolt up to the winch as well... Thumbs Up!
