raising rollers

I have had problems getting my boat loaded back onto the trailer. The ramp I am using is steep once it hits the water. By the time I get the front end of the trailer in the water far enough, the back end (and side rollers) are a foot under water. Thus the side rollers are useless. When the boat is loaded, the back end is free to move right over the side rollers and fenders.

I saw the 4ft guiding post on Bass Pro Shop, but I think I will extend the current bracket arm on the current rollers about 16 inches further up. This should work fine.

Question is, has anyone done this and is there any foreseen problems with this fix? As you can see from the sig, I have a 07 Bass Tracker PT175TXW.

Thanks in advance...
